What the Sports Quota actually is
A special reservation under Tamil Nadu NEET-UG counselling, open to candidates who've competed in recognized sporting events and qualified NEET-UG 2026. It applies only to Government medical and dental colleges, administered by the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee.

Where your achievement needs to sit
Higher priority generally goes to international and national-level performance. Only certificates issued by recognized federations and competent authorities are accepted.

Six steps from NEET to seat
Follow this sequence exactly — missing any step can result in disqualification from the Sports Quota.
Qualify NEET UG 2026
Clear NEET UG 2026 — this is the non-negotiable entry point for the Sports Quota and all government medical seat allocations.
Register online
Register through the official Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee website (tnmedicalselection.net) during the specified window, selecting the Sports Quota category.
Upload documents
Upload scanned copies of all academic and sports certificates as specified in the official notification. Ensure files are clear and within size limits.
Attend certificate verification
Attend in-person physical verification as per the official schedule. Carry all original documents — failure to attend leads to automatic disqualification.
Sports merit list publication
A separate Sports Quota merit list is published, ranked by sports achievement level and NEET eligibility. Monitor the portal closely.
Online counselling & seat allotment
Eligible candidates participate in online counselling for the 13 MBBS + 2 BDS reserved seats. College preferences are submitted and seats are allotted based on rank.
