JEE Main 2027 Session 1 Exam Dates & Documents Required
NTA's proposed exam-day calendar for JEE Main 2027 Session 1, what's known so far about registration, and the documents worth keeping ready before the application opens.
JEE Main 2027 Session 1 exam dates
The National Testing Agency has published its proposed 2026–27 examination calendar. JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is set out across six exam days plus a buffer date:
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| JEE Main Session 1 | 22 January 2027 |
| JEE Main Session 1 | 23 January 2027 |
| JEE Main Session 1 | 24 January 2027 |
| JEE Main Session 1 | 28 January 2027 |
| JEE Main Session 1 | 29 January 2027 |
| JEE Main Session 1 | 30 January 2027 |
| Buffer date | 31 January 2027 |
These are proposed dates. NTA has said examination dates can change for administrative, academic, statutory, logistical or other unforeseen reasons. Always confirm against the detailed JEE Main 2027 information bulletin once it's released, at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
JEE Main 2027 registration
The Session 1 registration schedule has not yet been officially released — NTA's calendar so far covers exam dates only, and application dates will follow separately on the JEE Main portal. Several exam-prep portals are estimating an October 2026 opening based on past years' timelines, but that's an estimate, not a confirmed date. Avoid relying on unofficial registration dates until NTA's own notification is out.
Bookmark the official website and check it directly rather than a third party: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Documents to keep ready
NTA will confirm the final JEE Main 2027 requirements in its information bulletin. Until then, based on how the application has worked in recent years, it's sensible to have the following in order:
Class 10 certificate / marksheet
Check that your name, date of birth and parents' names on it match your other records exactly.
Aadhaar card
If you'll use Aadhaar-based authentication, make sure your name, date of birth and photo are current before you apply.
Recent photograph
A recent passport-size photo in the prescribed digital format — NTA will confirm exact size, dimensions and background in the 2027 bulletin.
Signature
A clear scanned signature in the prescribed format; check the exact specification once the 2027 bulletin is released.
Category certificate
SC, ST, OBC-NCL or EWS certificate if you're applying under a reserved category, valid for the current admission year.
PwD / PwBD / UDID documents
Your disability certificate or UDID card, if you're claiming PwD-related benefits.
We'll keep calling this section "documents to keep ready" rather than "final mandatory documents" until NTA's 2027 information bulletin confirms the exact list.
Other information to keep ready

- Full name, date of birth, gender

Contact details
- An active mobile number
- A valid email ID
- Your communication address
Use a mobile number and email ID you check daily — NTA sends most updates through these, and a missed message can mean a missed deadline. It's worth getting all of the above in order before the portal opens, rather than scrambling once it does.
