Why is the NEET 2026 Dress Code Important?
The NTA prescribes a strict dress code to ensure a fair, secure, and smooth examination process for all NEET 2026 candidates appearing on 03 May 2026.
Failure to follow the NEET 2026 dress code may lead to disqualification or denial of entry at the exam centre. Do not take any risks on exam day.
NEET 2026 Dress Code — Male & Female
- ✓ Light-coloured half-sleeve shirts or t-shirts
- ✓ Simple trousers or pants
- ✓ Slippers or sandals with low heels
- ✗ Full sleeve shirts or jackets
- ✗ Heavy or layered clothing
- ✗ Kurta-pajama
- ✗ Shoes or boots
- ✓ Light-coloured clothes with half sleeves
- ✓ Salwar / Kurti (without embroidery or heavy work)
- ✓ Simple leggings or pants
- ✓ Slippers or sandals (low-heeled)
- ✗ Full sleeve dresses or tops
- ✗ Fancy or embroidered clothes
- ✗ Dupattas with heavy designs
- ✗ High heels or shoes
- ✗ Jewellery (earrings, rings, chains, etc.)
Dress Code for Religious / Customary Attire
Candidates who wear religious or customary dress are allowed to appear in NEET 2026, but must follow these steps:
- Inform NTA in advance while filling the online application form
- Report to the exam centre at least 2–3 hours early for proper checking by invigilators
- Be prepared for thorough frisking as per NTA security protocol
Items Not Allowed Inside NEET 2026 Exam Hall
The following items are completely prohibited inside the NEET UG 2026 examination hall. Carrying any of these may lead to immediate disqualification.
NTA follows a zero-tolerance policy for prohibited items. Even accidental possession can result in disqualification. Empty your bags and pockets the night before the exam.
Important Exam Day Instructions
Follow these instructions carefully on 03 May 2026 to ensure a smooth and stress-free entry at your NEET centre.
- ⏰Arrive Early: Reach the exam centre at least 2–3 hours before the exam starts (before 11:00 AM)
- 🪪NEET Admit Card: Carry the official admit card — entry is denied without it
- 🪪Valid ID Proof: Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport or any government-issued photo ID
- 📸Passport Size Photo: Carry a recent passport-size photograph as required
- 📋Follow Instructions: Strictly follow all directions given by invigilators and centre staff
