JEE Main 2026 Identity Verification Notice

Mandatory Verification for Non-Aadhaar Users & Photograph Discrepancy Cases

Latest Update: NTA has observed that many candidates used non-Aadhaar IDs (PAN/Passport/Voter ID) or had Live Photo Mismatches against UIDAI records. To prevent impersonation, an additional verification certificate is now mandatory to download, attest, and upload.

1. Why is this required?

Non-Aadhaar Entry:

Candidates who registered using DigiLocker, PAN card, or Passport instead of Aadhaar authentication.

Biometric Mismatch:

Cases where the live photograph taken during registration does not align with the records available with UIDAI.

2. Documents & Attestation Guide

Step A: Download & Prepare

  • Login to jeemain.nta.nic.in and download the Identity Verification Certificate from your dashboard.
  • Affix a recent passport-size photograph (must match the one used in the application).
  • Ensure the certificate is signed and stamped by an authorized officer.

Step B: Who can verify/attest the certificate?

• School / College Principal
• School / College Headmaster
• Class-I Gazetted Officer (Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM)
• Indian Embassy Class-I Officer (For NRI Candidates)

3. Mandatory Exam Day Requirements

⚠️ Physical Certificate Verification:

In addition to the online PDF upload, you MUST carry the original printed copy of this attested certificate to the exam center. You will not be allowed entry without this document for physical verification.
