TANUVAS is a premier institution in veterinary and animal sciences education in India. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in veterinary science, animal husbandry, and related fields.

1) 15% of total seats for BVSc & AH are reserved for candidates selected by Veterinary Council of India.

2) 15% of total seats for BTech (FT) are reserved for candidates selected by ICAR, GoI.

SYSTEM OF EDUCATION

(i) BVSc & AH Degree Course

(4½ years Course work and One year Internship as per MSVE Regulations 2016)

The pattern of instruction and evaluation is the annual examination pattern under the syllabus and regulations prescribed by the Veterinary Council of India. An enrolled student should complete the course credits prescribed from time to time and shall have to earn a minimum Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 5.0 out of 10.0 in order to earn BVSc & AH degree. After completion of course credits at the end of 4½years, the student should satisfactorily complete an Internship Training Programme of one year duration.

(ii) BTech (Food Technology) / BTech (Poultry Technology) / BTech (DairyTechnology)

Semester Course Credit System (8 Semesters)

The pattern of instruction and evaluation is the semester course credit system under the syllabus and regulations prescribed by the TANUVAS. An enrolled student should complete the course credits prescribed from time to time and shall have to earn a minimum Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 5.0 out of 10.0 in order to earn BTech (Food Technology) / BTech (Poultry Technology) / BTech (Dairy Technology) degree. The student shall satisfy the minimum residential requirement of 8 semesters of study including the compulsory in-plant training for one semester.

Note: The above cut off marks are of last two year status only and it may vary every year.

TANUVAS Admission Important Points

Eligibility: UG admission requires a 10+2 education with 50% marks, while the PG course requires an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, and for a PhD course, students must be a master’s degree holder in a similar field.

Application Fee: The application fee starts from INR 350/- to INR 1200/– based on the category.
Admission Criteria: Applicants are required to complete eligibility with their merit marks and appear for an entrance exam for admission purposes.
Reservation: OC- 31.0%, BA- 26.5%, BCM- 3.5%, MBC- 20.0%, SC- 15%, SCA- 3.0%, and ST- 1.0%.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their marks in the qualifying examination as computed below:

Online Counselling will be conducted on the basis of order of merit, rules of reservation of Government of Tamil Nadu and preference opted by the candidate. The eligible candidates need to register for participation in online counselling
The selected candidates shall download their admission letter. They have to report to the mentioned venue within the prescribed time period to submit their certificates / documents for verification and pay the prescribed fee. Upon submission of necessary documents and prescribed fee payment, the candidate will be admitted to the course and admission slip will be issued to the candidate and they shall report to the admitted colleges on the prescribed date of registration / orientation.
The campus (for BVSc & AH) / course (for BTech) preference shall be made by the candidate only once for the couselling.The candidates who failed to register for online counselling WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION THEREAFTER.
Based on the vacancy position, next round of counselling will be conducted.Sliding procedure (internal counselling for campus / course change based on the rank and preference for the eligible candidates) will be followed for already admitted candidates. Further,for the resultant vacancies’candidates will be selected based on the counselling registration.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR B.V.SC. & A.H. / B.TECH.

- Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu State.
- A pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2)/CBSE/any other examination (regular mode) recognized as equivalent thereto and fulfilling the following requirements are mandatory.
- In addition, for those candidates who have appeared HSC examination of Tamil Nadu State Board from March 2020, a pass in 11th standard examination is mandatory(G.O. Ms. No. 195, School Education Dept., Dated: 14.09.2018 of the Government of Tamil Nadu).
- Only academic qualification examination marks secured by the candidate will be considered for the aggregate mark calculation. Grace marks for co-curricular / extracurricular activities will not be considered.

Age limit:

Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years.

Maximum Age:

Candidates of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Caste – Arunthathiyar (SCA) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories- NO age limit
Other candidates- 21 years
