JEE Main 2021 Exam Pattern - (Revised)

JEE Main 2021 exam pattern has been revised, and the number of questions in the entrance exam has been increased from 75 to 90. Each subject will have 30 questions now. The candidates must note that Section B consists of numerical questions, and he/ she will have the option to answer any five questions out of 10. There is no choice in Section A. Overview of Major Changes in JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021

Here are some of the major changes in the exam pattern -

  • This year, the number of questions have been increased
  • Out of 90 questions, the candidates can answer any 75 questions.
  • Section B in each subject will have 10 questions out of which the candidates can answer five
  • There will be no negative marking in Section B

JEE Main Syllabus 2021

NTA has released the official syllabus for JEE Main aspirants. Students appearing for JEE Main 2021 must go through the detailed syllabus to get knowledge of subjects and topics that will form the question paper of the examination. With the help of the JEE Main syllabus 2021 candidates will be able to strategize their preparations and cover the topics that are important and will carry more weightage in the exam. JEE Main 2021 will comprise of topics and concepts of class 11 and 12 with slight variation in the difficulty level.

JEE Main 2021 Exam Day Guidelines

To avoid encountering any kind of unforeseen circumstances on the day of exam, candidates can go through the JEE Main 2021 exam day guidelines. Given below are the exam day guidelines that will help students get all things in place before the day of exam:

  • Authorities will open the entry gates of the exam hall 2.5 hours before the exam commences. Given that there will be frisking by metal detectors and other security arrangements, candidates are advised to reach the exam centres well before time to avoid any latency in the final moments.

  • Candidates will be required to bring their JEE Main 2021 admit cardand an identity proof to get entry into the exam hall. Students appearing for the entrance test must keep their admit card, id proof well in place one day before the exam to avoid any inconvenience and unnecessary delay.

  • PWD category candidates will be required to bring their duly signed PWD ceritificate in the format prescribed by the authorities.

  • Any electronic gadgets such as phone, calculator, watches with calculators, pagers etc are strictly prohibited inside the exam centres. Students will also not be allowed to carry any textual material such as log tables, books, notebooks etc.

  • Diabetic students will be allowed to carry items like sugar tablets/fruits and transparent water bottle to the exam hall. Such candidates must note that they won’t be allowed to carry packaged food items like chocolate/candy/sandwich etc.
